Well, if you were REALLY good at reading assembler code — then I would have to start worrying about you!

You and me, both. xD Someone posted up topic about a file that ended in .wgc and to beware of it. I didn’t have it, but saw this file, that might be part of it. So I decided to see if it was decodeable (is that a word?) and see what was in it. Now we know. Might as well be Klingon.

here you go preferences with login ifo one is a clean client and one has naughty mods ,side by side (click to enlarge ) they are DIFFERENT

    Capture.PNG

Just a thought, not sure if it will work.

    1. Install your legal mods.

    2. Delete everything in AppDataRoamingWargaming.netWorldOfTanks. The game will recreate the files on startup.

    3. Start WoT. Will have to redo game prefs though.

    4. Close out of game. Don’t play a battle.

    5. Go to AppDataRoamingWargaming.netWorldOfTanks, copy and save somewhere safe the preferences.xml file.

    6. Install your naughty mods.

    7. Start WoT. Tab out to desktop and then replace the current preference file with the one from earlier.

    8. Play the game.

Like I said I don’t know if this will work as the date/time of the file changes everytime the game starts. If it does work it is kind of a awkward way of doing things.

The problem is that this section is updated every time you play a game or start the game.  Most likely last p[played information. Why would WG read from a text file, when they can just read from memory, which is easier, faster and harder to detect.

IDK, unless they are able to read the encrypted stuff in the login section of the file somehow.

Yes they can since they wrote it.  It also stores your hashed username and password in that section.

I think I figured it out. PM from devs to explain it.

(Anyone else who is NOT a dev I will not reply to for obvious reasons).

“Thank you for all your work :D
    I think Igor is right
It is a hack installed by wot
Which triggers the installation of mods
    C: Games World_of_Tanks res scripts
    Looks at: user_data_objects.xml and user_data_object_defs
I have to remove the xml file (the game works)
Which is notified may correspond to the triggering of the warning at wot
What do you think ?, I can also be wrong I want your opinion”

No. I’m sorry and I mean no disrespect but posting for everyone to see is not so smart perhaps.

Understood, but posting “I know and I won’t tell you” is … frustrating. :)

Every file in my ” user_data_object_defs ” folder is very, very old:  most files are dated 2016-3-1; the most most recent are a couple dated 2016-5-18 and one dated 2016-9-28.

My user_data_objects.xml file is last modified on 2016-9-28.

So, those dates are too old to be the result of snooping?

Mine are the same dates.  They can add a couple of lines of code to the program and read from memory, no reading from files is necessary.

i think some of you could try to test how the so called “anti cheat” works on world of warships. I believe WG tried this algorithm first time on world of warships, they did find the injected mods with quite high degree of accuracy. just my thought. perhaps you guys modpacks builder could communicate with wows mod packs builders.

They barred me while I was offline. He told a friend from the Clan….

The only common (perhaps) is that eliminated shortly before the end of the Top Tanker, also gave two days extra to maturity. Although I sent ticket NOT answered my most Forbidden mod are used. basically any mod puts and WG in the game, such as carousels etc. I think the mod consider that lose money, because no one buys gold or stock tanks, in order to win. Maybe some players who make mod and aneikoun in WG potential complained about falling sales.
