i have a suspicion that wg are somehow capping garage screen when first entering , where is says xvm etc,and list the mods you have

But most mods dont show anything, and there would be a lot of privacy laws being violated by taking a screen cap.  All they have to do is read from memory, and see what is loaded into the WoT memory space to check for mods.

Is wrong my friend … ZJ is not a product of BW, you bought the MOD to ZJ himself and had to have entered this page for that purchase.

That is what WG uses for updates to the app.

Here’s a little gem that might help.

CS  answered a ticket and implied that the cheats are detected when the game loads.

when this is correct you can start the game direct over the .exe and connect to i-net AFTER starting at the Login.page…..

This will not work.  The game has to connect to the internet, to connect to the servers, and as soon as it does, it will send what information it wants to.

I DID NOT have any other mod pack running except BW Modpack and SAE autoaim, so unlikely that the theory of other mod packs causing the ban.

    1. It looks like SAE to me. That is why the numbers on the RU server are so high. There are far more using SAE there.

    2. In 2 clients using identical XVM setups but different aimbots, only the one with SAE got banned.

    3. Other mods get caught too but I haven’t figured those out yet. If the mod gets detected during client load it could be anything so perhaps the most common ones are most dangerous.

WG is talking about 1st wave / 2nd wave. I suspect that they have to configure the detection so they are only looking for a limited amount of mods in each wave, they then need to set new parameters.

If the detection is done in-game, looking at the players behavior, (aimpoints),  that limits the types detectable to aim enhancing mods. (Looking for impossible locks or continued lock after “spot lost”.

…hmmmm….not sure….u and me use differenet modpacks…urs aslains with SAE on top mine helpics with SAE in pack…..

we both have the same mods ticked in each…..G mod, minimap destructibles etc..apart from the cosmectic diffs with each xvm config they are the same too.

The only diffs in the SAE’s are urs is a seperate mod dropped in and mine is built into the pack.

So is it a script hidden into ur modpack installer or is the reporting coming direct from the client?

With the announcment of arround 20k bans many questions have arisen…

I myself was curious as the numbers seemed so low as it was only the tip of an iceberg. So I did go digging the internet for more specific information and found some usefull stuff. Now I can answer some of the questions:

    How did WG detect them?

How did they know for sure they cheated?

Will this work in the future to detect more cheaters?

Why isn’t someone banned, that I know for fact, is cheating?

How many cheaters are out there?

I will not give you any sources nor will I tell specific mods/hacks or people so you can’t google them for obvious reasons. :honoring:

    How did WG detect them?

    Two methods are known.

One was by the leaked customer-base of a paid aimbot.

The other was a cheat-mod that was reporting itself to WG trough the client. (made by WG or someone close)

How did they know for sure they cheated?

If you pay for an aimbot, you are very likely to use it, either now or in the past. The selfreporting cheat-mod is obviously only working if installed, therefore used.

Will this work in the future to detect more cheaters?

Regarding the leaked customer base it is very unlikely that the big names will destroy their reputation by selling out their customers. (Especially after the one that allready did was found out in hours.) They earn a sh*tload of money, because a lot of people pay for their hacks. And WG would need to pay them even more money just to ban their customers who are also likely to spend money in WoT.

Regarding the mod, this was obviously a one-time stunt since people will now be more aware of what they put into their modpacks, what to put on their sites and what to download and use. It may work again, but even less people will take the bait and seeing the allready low numbers of cheaters banned there is not much hope.

Why isn’t someone banned, that I know for fact, is cheating?

Because he didn’t pay for that specific aimbot nor did he download and use that specific cheat-mod.

How many cheaters are out there?

I can’t give you a number. But think of this: There are multitudes of paid and non-paid aimbots, hacks and cheats out there. They got the customers of one paid aimbot and one newly distributed mod, which numbered 20k.
You can safely asume that the people cheating in this game are a multitude of what was caught.

Some will say: But WG didn’t want to tell how they did this so people can’t prepare, now you spoil the beans.

You are right, that is one side of the medal. The other is informing you, that WG can’t detect anything and the cheaters allready know that.

There is also one thing to consider. Other anti-cheat-tools are known how they basicly work. Not in technical detail, but at least on a simple scale. (Like you know how a engine works without you knowing any specific measurements.) WG gives us numbers and suggests that they now have a working anti-cheat-system, because… magic.

I wouldn’t spoil the beans if there was in fact an anti-cheat-system working in the backround. But this is WG just throwing some grumps to the masses and hope they mistake them for bread.

Edit1: 20k is for banned players global (not just EU)

Edit2: arround 16k players were banned because of the leak, leaves arround 4k for the cheat-mod

Edit3: it’s allready known how to bypass the cheat-mod detection
