added a new fan controller this week £7 wish.com  well impressed , front panel time, date,alarm, it also has three temp probes that when a certain temp is reached the fans spin faster and an alarm sounds until temp is safe, you can switch from each sensor by a press of a button and little icons show when hd is active etc quite easy to install and setup , you can also manual over ride the fan speeds at any time and set to what you wish.

I have used windows since 95 and hand on heart once you do a slight tayloring job on wn10 it is without doubt the fastest,cleanest version to date , also many will tell you very few errors etc. it really is idiot proof.

wn8 put a lot of people off upgrading same with vista both lets be honest fucking shit upgrades , i hatted windows 8 with a vengence , to touchy feely for me looked like a tablet desktop.

also windows 10 is free (cough cough wink wink) and you can get many custom versions if you really look around. i just use 10 pro and download and install this program,

this shell turns off all those stupid tiles , and reverts the start menu down to windows 7 , i always use this and it makes me think i am still using windows 7 be it a super clocked version.

 

you can download a little program that auto turns off windows updates if you wish but i leave them on and have never had a problem.

i am glad you mentioned do i need? this is the key question that people neglect or ignore.

take for example the only game you play is world of tanks  you also use your pc for day to day use and watch films etc. on , you would get away with a series 9 nvidia card and still pull over 100 fps with a decent cpu.

be aware legacy cards from nvidia and ati are the standard release of that card , dont be fooled a legacy 1070ti still rocks your world but you do need to compare model versions if your going to buy a new gpu, the 3rd party cards are nearly or i would say totally better legacy card may come with 2 gig of memory and one fan , 3rd party version of same card may have 6gig of memory , double fan and copper pipes and heatsync , there is a lot to consider and we have not even looked at price range or more important bang for buck, a group i am a member of  quite a few members last month all pre ordered ryzen cpus the dawn of a new age ? lol , ryzen need their own motherboards and memory as well ,??? money , money,money. and still the i7 kicks the shit out of it after all the hype. the 1080ti released this month you couldnt pre order because so many people had beat you to it , but when you look at it they are for 4k gaming on a 4k monitor , you would also need a stonkin motherboard and cpu to see the benifits of having one of these cards , we are not talking hundreds here we are in the thousands,when ever new top of the range stuff gets released like the last few months its the ideal time to dip into the second hand market. i have seen 1060s and 480s for under £200 both until recently (pre christmas) were the muts nuts when it came to top end cards , shop around , ask questions , shop again ask some more questions , just dont go to pc world and say to yourself i think i will have that.

there are a few factors to take in as well , i myself had crew on sixth skill over two years ago and they are still on sixth skill so take that into account go for five skills per crewman as your average maximum.

the skills are not linear in the fact to get skill one is quicker than getting skill two skill three is probably the combination of skill one and two in time and battles , its just not linear.

a small crew will of course increase skills quicker than a large crew as each battle the crew takes it in turns to get the increase of points they dont all get the lot every battle.

most players will settle for three skills and not hotswap crews with prem tanks which of course will more than double the crews progress if he is fighting in two tanks and one is a prem.

I ALWAYS have my commander training as mentor even on his sixth skill its still mentor there are two methods , the gold way (pre wargaming ban days) or the skill reset way,

the gold way is simple enough have your commander on mentor , when he gets to 100% pay the gold and retrain the first skill to sixthsense , now set him back to mentor , until you reach second full skill ,change this to   BIA  and set him back to mentor,

depending on the tank all other crew are waiting for the commander  to get his second full skill and his BIA , you then reset the crew and make sure they all get BIA and what ever else you like be it repairs or cammo with vents on the vehicle crew will be up around 120 more than enough to see any difference in performance(note here i found russians get most from crew skills ??? could just be me).

if you dont want to use gold , you need to make sure crew member or commander has enough to reset and still be above 100% in one skill , you will loose around 30% this way so train to 130% combined and reset to 100% single

 

of course do the crew skills make a difference ? yes they do indeed but i would argue gold consumables make as much of an impact  on performance , watch leet players they play vanilla clients that look shit ,yet they all carry crates of coke and the like. bit like gold or silver ammo??? no contest ,same with gold consumables major update to your crew. and of course both cost you REAL money

ahh no was doing this to show the differences in graphics cards , not all 1060’s are the same sort of thing ,there are many factors that i myself was unaware of before i took a deeper look , people that know this stuff assume everyone knows it to

this is why on ebay you will see a big price difference for what looks like the same card , a simple google search for most models can give you a £150 spread and with the 1080ti release already there are a lot of top end cards being put up for sale

i was doing this for a reference but after the wedding sunday i had a virus of some kind , my throat was swollen up and i wanted my missus to mother me  i felt really bad m8 , it only lasted two days but knocked me off my feet , today is first day i am feeling ok

next step is perspects time  make a cover for that psu and then a backplate for the gpu , your psu cover you could really go overboard on as you also have the fans in the bottom that are lit up ,  a clever bit of design there could really make this build look ass tight

not only gun sights but almost any mod , think of it this way , instead of calling the folder RES_MODS call it MODS all file structure is the same but where it differs is when you enter the patch version folder (0.9.17.1) all files in here are then zipped up versions with the WOTMOD extension ,so for instance if you wanted to put a modified arcadecrosshair.swf in your mods directory  this is what you would do,

create a folder on your desktop with the structure 

RES/GUI/FLASH and in the flash directory put your modified arcadecrosshair.swf

now zip it up (without compresion) and rename it crosshair_universal_arcade with the file extension wotmods

all files above are zipped/rared  with directory structure RES/GUI/FLASH/ and the original .swf files

edit apart from the crosshair_scripts.wotmod file that has the directory structure of

RES/SCRIPTS/CLIENT/GUI/MODS/ mod_vxcrosshairs.pyc

the file structure in these zipped/rared files is identical from res_mods structure apart from it adds an extra directory called RES

looking forward to seeing them m8 ,i have a build to do for my grandsons bedroom this week , i have all components its just a case of selecting which ones work best together , i am going to use my old black case but am going to mod it with something like spiderman theme or the like, over the years we tend to pick up loads of items yet never quite get around to throwing the old stuff away  all he needs a pc for is home work , kodi and netflix , so it doesnt have to be drop jaw high tec or anything , but it does need to look good and seen as i have five red led fans doing nothing it has to be black and red themed. will post pictures later.

 

EDIT while looking through my old pc parts this week i found my old plantronics headset ,i stored them away once i got my current domes , also found my razer tarantular keyboard i used to use a life time ago all good stuff sat in a cup board , well my grandson will love em

deffo worth the look m8 and its tiny price to pay for something you will have for a long long time as its on steam so well supported , there is also an option included to make your own ,been playing with it today,this is official trailer and it does support multi monitors.

the two front fans have blue leds and are on all the time but are not bright , the two inteligent top fans are also blue LED but only on when they need to be and light is minimal ,

there is also a blue LED strip running along of the inside top of the case that is producing the most light and atm this is always on

I say at the moment because i am waiting on a fan control unit coming in the post , once i have this installed i can add the led strip to the fan controller and be able to turn up ,turn down with the touch screen controler, the case has a built in fan controller but its low medium or high , by adding the new unit itto  one of the front drive bays i can control the fans and the lighting at a touvh of a button.

not a lot , this has been done by pro coders and it sells for under £3 , the wallpapers are endless as there is an option included to make your own and publish to steam , there are full animation film to still images with effects added ,

the very good thing included is the ability to switch it off automatic when you open a window full screen or have a window in front of it ,some wallpapers like the gta5 ones are full on video but will only play when your on the desktop so its like watching a film in vlc player or the like.
