on review of the bans i am on the fence still waiting……. , for what ? well for one of WG’s own to spill the beans on how they are checking.

because this has not already come to light leads me to think what they are doing is slightly illegal by using a third party to provide data , if i was pushed to guess i would point to PMOD  or POLAROID related,

i have strong reasons to assume this due to having two accounts (different servers) but both accounts used exact same mods apart from stats , one used PMOD version other did not and the PMOD account got banned,

also stats is an easy way to get or send info from client to server , just put a version checker in with a little bit of nasty code and its done..

i still dont think WG are able to do half of what they claim without breaking certain laws and they know it.

open a can of worms and your going to get a can of whoop ass as well.

it still remains to see life time bans as of yet , will they ever happen ? i think for non premium tank owners yes they will , there is a whole legal mess that is waiting for WG if they ban people who have paid for use of premiums

so lifetime bans are a non starter and they know it ,it only takes one determined player who has all the time he needs and money to take them on and certainly win his case for refunds, once one does it , the door is open.for everyone , because its a free to play game does not mean they own your ass , if you have bought premium tanks you bought them for life , when you clicked the button to buy , there was no disclaimer saying if we bring rules out later and you break them we gonna keep your money but not let you use your premium ? lol should be interesting

also i think if you were reported for cheating in the weeks leading up to the ban wave ?

reason i add this is some dickhead didnt like the fact i owned him in my tier 5 and smashed his tier 7  had a pm session after battle where he said to me enjoy your ban lol ?

lol oh so true…….. but it does appear (news coming in from sources) that the methods used to detect mods are not 100% legal on their behalf

this would make sense ref the premium tanks , they would have to give the money back to you if they will not allow you to play with it and not tell you why

instead of banning people why not just stop the client connecting if it has illegal mods , this is what most mod buster type programs would do ?

the thing that bugs me is that the first wave seemed completly random , if your going to ban people then ban all that use mods not just a select few and when you do issue a warning like saying what mod was detected,

i am not saying that i dont know what is legal but you will have some people that are innocent to the fact that say auto repair is not allowed , i use auto repair and auto fire ex. but they are activated by a button press so is this illegal ?

after all the default are set off by a button press , i just use “r” button because its close to thr W,D,S A keys so easier to get at , not really a cheat just a better macro than wargaming have , i could set a macro to my keyboard for this that would be un detectable as it simulates key presses  but come on its nit picking at best.

and what is going to happen sooner or later they are going to ban innocents as they are not saying what tripped the ban in the first place?

we should start an online pertition or something and get as many as possible involved to NOT SPEND ANY MONEY AT ALL for two months on the game until they come clean about how they are gathering this info?

fair enough if they explain a soulution but i am not sold on the response they gave above as it being server side checking.

i would like to see how many got banned that use the auto repair ? i have a feeling that this is the only cheat they are able to detect (spotters version) 

FYI take two accounts exact same res_mods folder , one gets banned the other does not ? this happened to me , same res_mods so same mods yet one account has been blocked ,so this sort of ties into when the game loads and they can have info sent to their servers at the time of login ,  these are   part of the preferences file in appdata , if these were decoded i would imagine , here lies the culprits

my account on the NA server got banned today along with another 251 players

i did not take part or use any mod for top tanker and my python log has always been write protected.

so what mod were the 252 of us running that others were not?

or have wargaming gave me a slapped wrist for being first to publish how to block your python log?

so anyway 252 is a very small percentage of the overall player base ,so lets rule auto repair out as you will know yourselves how many times in a battle do you see instant fire extinguishers ? far to often to count if this was the cause of the ban we would be looking at far more, so its not that.

x-ray mod ? it could well be but i find it hard to grasp that only 252 people are using it on the NA servers ? 

which leaves bw aimbot ? have bwot sold over 252 licences to NA server players ?

only other mod i had installed at the time but not using was hit skin mod , i was using the skins to reskin sort of thing not to aim at lol but i think hitskins would be hard to detect as they would take the same place in res_mods as would a custom tiger 2 skin would ? so not the reason.

the other thing that keeps bugging me is what if they can take a screenshot of your garage as soon as the game loads when it shows mod made by so and so ?

i expected to get a ban ,they have been on this site for a while asking stupid questions in shoutbox and in private messages so they know who we are.

i have a suspicion that wg are somehow capping garage screen when first entering , where is says xvm etc,and list the mods you have
