Lol I did this long ago. Got pro version

You are the man Soulza.
Guys remember to make sure your games are right clicked and set as games. When they are 90% of resources go to Game thread and it opens ports as well.
Also it autoshuts down programs that hog resources. It is a must for AMD guys as it also turns off core parking which is a huge offender of microsttuter etc.

Ok I did. Im not seeing how they are ahead. AMD is doing the same stuff. By using the HBM they are building all the memory on the chip with no controller as well. Also they will have Hyperthreading with 14mn.
Im just not sure they will be much better next time [Gen] and infact if AMD Bulldozer used Hyperthreading it would have been far superior as the cores in the AMD are so much better at working together.
Basically the Zen CPU is bringing the best Intel has and the best AMD has. I think AMD knew this was make it or break it time, and while there CPU is much better in cost/Performance, they realized they still needed something to compete with the I7 even if it cost 300$. It wil lstill be 200$ cheaper.

I found i was getting fps dips again , so put my engine_config.xml in and it didnt work to well ,so i opened up and did an edit on the 9.15 engine_config.xml and can honestly say game is running on medium settings with shadows etc, and i am pulling between 120-100 fps at fecking last
this is with xmap disabled but hp in players panels enabled , fps do drop to around 80 when in fire fight but finally full xvm at a great frame rate ,
not FPS top left
Your monitor is only 60 hz right? If so anything higher is a waste and you want it to look better for those 20 extras.
BTW SHadows are very hard on CPU, In fact you could probably run WOT on high with no shadows on

(Sorry, you know I am just kidding about the Schmuck thing — just sounded funny).
We had a briefing from Intel and they have already surpassed AMD again. All of the gains regarding L2/L3/L4 cache is out the door — they are releasing CPU’s that now have all of that memory PLUS DRAM sitting on the CPU, not using a memory controller and therefore not incurring any of the overhead. In addition, they are making disk (SSD) IO directly addressable by the CPU, again bypassing a block controller (ie., a disk controller).
I fear, my friend, that AMD jsut no longer has what it takes. I have numerous friends here in Austin that work(ed) at AMD and they keep laying off the chip designers. CPU’s are no longer making them money — only the GPU’s. They were even dumb enough (like Freescale) to spin off the Memory group — and guess who is making tons of cash making solid state memory??? Not AMD.
I will pray for your CPU-soul to return to the Intel-light. Go toward the light, go toward the light, go toward ……………..

I hate Intel with a passion, although I would be crazy to say they wernt the top dog. Intel are the biggest bullies on gods earth. They have bought and suppressed so much tech its ridiculous. I hope they get outed one day doing there shady deals and they collapse.
AMD better keep making stuff as its literally the entire reason why Intel doesnt charge 700$ for a old I7.
I know the L2 L3 cache is all in one part in the next gen, that was the HBM link I posted.
So while Intel will still use DDR 4, no matter how many controllers they use the distance will be 100 of times further still.
But a perfect example of AMD making Intel have to brng down cost is there GPU`s. They came and beat Invidia badly. 960 which was less powerful than the 380 ATI was more expensive by 40$. So buying a 980 card was a 500$ affair.
Well look what happend, Intel is now selling a card that is faster than the fastest card out now costing 900$ for 349 next year. All because AMD schooled them.
So even for you Intel lovers, AMD is a must.
Explain how Intel is going to have the advantage? AMD has Hyperthreading in its next design and from a engineer standpoint, HBM will be faster than anything with normal ram or cache. And while I thought this was going to be more hype, I read reviews from guys who were intel lovers, and when they see the HBM and new CPU stuff even they are impressed. Also, Intel is losing badly in the CPU economy market.
Think about this. For Crysis or Battlefield or any other solid Multicore game. For 170$ I can buy a chip that runs 120 FPS at max settings, rather than paying 400 or 500 for a I7. Yes the I7 is better, but I cant tell the diff in those games TBH. I have seen many comparisons and TBH the CPU means little at there levels, it all comes down to the GPU. Even WOWS runs amazingly fast compare to WOT.
Price per performance isnt even close. Esp since the guys who buy these unlocked AMD`s are getting 6 ghz overclocks which does blow the doors off anything but a 5ghz I7. All for 170 $..Lol
Pretty awesome, even if AMD is in trouble. Also I think in the next 10 years CPU/GPU will become the same. I think we will buy APU`s that are powerful enough for everthing. Especially with HBM. TBH HBM should have come long ago, but Intel being the pack leader and the bully gets to set the pace
SFCStormMemberOn 5/14/2016 at 10:10 AM, Jack The Ripper said:Thanks for your reply. Here is a link to my processor that is Great water-cooled and overclocked to stable 4,7 Ghz. My Monitor runs at 144 Mhz, the rest of my setup is posted earlier today ! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113346

Cool, so even though this got higher marks in Crysis games than even I7`s, in WOT it is still below a I5. Good news is 4.7 GHZ is screaming fast.
You just need to make sure no other programs are running as this kills AMDs. They try to balance the load equally so they will always share the cores with WOT unless you Lasso it liek I said. So please go set the affinitys as I said and tell me how it is.
SFCStormMemberOn 5/16/2016 at 1:41 AM, soulza said:what i did notice on the test server is the sounds are deffo assigned to a separate core so the sound issues have been resolved , however i also noticed
(sorry no screenshot) that there are a few more sound settings to tweak now in the ingame menu , like headphones/speakers , dynamic/narrow/wide
for me personally wargaming are so intent on producing HD models of each tank every patch they fail to realise that many people dont give a toss about the greater detail ,
if it puts a strain on your game you generally dont like it , they had to change the sounds and in 9.15 you will see why they have ,you will gain fps.
But you are free of that now. Your GPU will preload textures so yo ucan make any static thing on high quality. The only thing SOulza our AMD`s are limited to are the physics stuff. Terrain really affects FPS as well as anything that moves that isnt a preloaded graphic like sparks. Those are just simple streams you access but the CPU has the job of texturing the entire games skelekton.
So, you can do things now with Hight textures high foiledge quality etx. But bump down the View Range. This will make your game pretty and fast.
Use High textures for everything and high LOD. But anything where your comp has to render Hi def stuff from wired angles or make moving parts, it wil lbog down.
SFCStormMember10 hours ago, Jack The Ripper said:I cant remember which Cores that must be enabled/disabled. Pls post it.

Jack what setup do you have? Post it and I can tel you what to use.

Nice to succeed.
This game on its own doesnt preload anything. And as fast as people think SSD are they are 100 k times slower than ram.
Remember everyone…Go to EngineCOnfig.XML and set “ForcePreloads” to true. This makes the game put the majority of sounds into Ram.
Im so happy for you soulza. It took me a while, but I have mine down pat. And now hopefully we can help others. Hell it took me a week to find all the tricks as now one really knew the answers, they just guessed at them.
Soul, please put on TS-HQ AA and tell me how pretty it is. IMO its amazing
PS
Now that you have a badass Over 60 FPS machine set buffering and tearing settings on and its even better. Wait what HZ is your TV?
SFCStormMember4 hours ago, soulza said:ok been working again this evening and have to work tomorow evening , so not getting much free time since i bought the gcard , will have plenty of time come sunday to fully run tests.
so first test i have just run on a replay from when i had my R7 260 installed , note i have no mods running at this time so this is the native game client.
the battles average out from 80 ish frames per second in arcade mode with medium to high settings as seen below.
click on images for full screen size.
In sniper mode I get the expected gain and fps are up to 120 ish.
so i know that the card and drivers are working as it should be , i now need to start adding mods to see where i end up

i did note this morning when playing a few battles with all mods that i use installed i was running at a very good 60 fps even higher in places but seldom below 60fps , but on occasions the frames would drop suddenly to 15 FPS only for a second or two , i have a feeling that its to do with sound events as it seemed to be happening when i had multi sound events happening at the same time , i need to confirm this , will report back
Yes this is where you will start to notice the engineconfig.XML needs tweaking. Its all CPU when it comes to huge drops of FPS. I will send you all my tweaked engine confgi etc. It has much higher ranges for sound and now mine almost never drops
Now if you get micor freezes that is ram/SSD related but frops in FPS is all CPU bottleneck. Soulza you really need to run project lasso for tyour AMD CPU and have the game ran in bitsum hi perf mode…This is night and day diff from standard. It takes away core parking and locks them into performance mode. Ad makes sure to run nothing on the 2 cores wot is playing on
SFCStormMemberAMD kick ass in other games TBH. I mean in games like Crysis and other Unreal ones, Intel simply cannot come close to the $ per Performance. But in games like WOT where single threading is king nothing but huge I5 Xeon and I7`s can really hang. Now my AMD is great now clocked at 4.4 ghz but it still is only equal to a I5 at 3.5 GHZ.
AMD is coming out with a badass new CPU that is going to change a lot. They put all ther eggs in this basket and if INTEL doesnt act liek the evil corp they truly are
it will give I7`s a true scare.
With its new Memory setup they are talking about 256 MB L2 and 512 MG l3 cache….I mean OMG. Also its speeds are not even measurable in now days speeds since the architecture is so small.
http://www.amd.com/en-us/innovations/software-technologies/hbm
Look at that its 9x faster than GDDR5…Lol
SFCStormMember3 hours ago, soulza said:what about the pci-e being only x4 and card goes up to x16 ? would i gain anything by getting a montherboard that supports x16 ?
I did the exact thing. I went from ATI older to gtx 960 and had the same issue.
ATI drivers bug themselves hard into your systems. What you need to do ASAP is download the ATI driver removing software. It forcibly removes the drivers. Then yo uneed to go int odevice manager and make sure nothing is robbing your video cards bus. Mine was sharing my new GTX with my ATI on the same bus and the card was essentially wigging out.
Next you do no need even close to 800 watts unless you are going extreme cooling etc. Gamers have this fear about low power and so they tend to put ton in power they do not need. For PSU`s you need quality power not quanity meaning a solid steady 500-600 watts for your card. NVIDIA uses way less than ATI and I run my 970 now on a true 550 and have 10 watts to spare at maximum esp since you are running your TV`s power separately right? Dont waste your money if you are.
Just add up appliances. AMD CPU`s usually are 125w under load. SSD are much less than HDD`s that actually spin etc. Anyways for your setup you sound fine, power wise.
Also while 2133 MHZ sounds cool, in practice it means nothing for WOT. In games that are done super well, it only matters by 1-2% and that is with maxxed out systems. In WOT you can use DDR2 if yo uare using a I7 thats overclocked and it will murder DDR 3 2133 MHZ super expensive ram with alower clocked CPU.
I cant say this enough but WOT is CPU CPU CPU!!!!! Once you have a GTX 960 and or ATI 380 or above, You are maxxed out and the bottleneck will always be CPU and Hard Drive.
The game only uses 2 GB of Ram at most and uses tons of HD space which is why its so slow. It also uses 1 Core for both Pysics and rendering.
Next, since our studies at RN`s about the truth about FPS, I have become an expert at AMD CPU knowledge and since I had the exact same card you did, the exact same 4gb EVGA, I can tell you my card never peaked out in use EVER. The bottleneck in WOT will always be the CPU.
And from tests, unless you have a late gen I5 @ 4.2ghz or a I7 at 3.95 GHZ ALL CPUS WILL CAP YOU OUT. Those are the only CPU`s currently that can run WOT at a never dipping 60 FPS at max settings.
I brought my AMD 8350 from 4 ghz to 4.4 and now run my 970 GTX on the same settings my 960 GTX ran and get the exact same FPS of 45-60.
What CPU do you have?
TL;DR im sure your low FPS is driver related. In fact im 100% sure.
THe coolest part about the new GPU upgrade soulza is using the games AA. Go turn on the TXAA-HQ and watch how amazing the game looks. See with low power ATI`s we couldnt use this, but with new NVIDIA you can…Its amazing how pretty the game will get, while not slowing up.
So first fix the drivers. Then turn up all the things like decal, and texture quality while not turning up anything that is actively moving like effects [This is CPU intense] The game will get amazig looking while keeping you from microfreezes.
Once you fix your issues and tell me the CPU, I will give you my exact settings. It took me days to get it just right, but its amazing now. The game went from DOOM graphics to Unreal graphics. And since then I wanted to see what it will be after the engine is completely and after looking at WOWS…Wow it uses 4 cores of load balancing and uses the AMD soooo much more effectively.
SFCStormMemberSoulza I did many more tests. I had 960 nvidia, 970 and 380 and 390 AMD`s and all did the exact same 50% usage on the cards. But unless you use a I5 at 4 ghz or a I7 or Xein with huge Single core threading perf the game stalls. This game is shitty.
Uses Max 1 gb vrma at 1080 and 2 gb ram and over uses all but 3 CPU`s
Without I7 or I5 its screwed. But with new engine coming out we shoudl be fine with AMD`s. ALso AMD comes out with its new CPU that actually beats single thread in the 6th gen I7 and it will be 200$ vs 400

Does this cause FPS dips? I mean I know the MM sucks FPS down, but have you noticedmore?
