OMFG It looks like I need to get my Son to reinstall WIN 10 and show me what to do.
What can you do with an old Dinosaur like me?……………………..careful now, I know what you are thinking
BobCMemberSorry Soulza, Scummbagg now has a detailed explanation and an apology in case they were upset.
Just keep your cables loose and don’t pack them tightly together was my simple message.
BobCMemberimpressive photoshopping

My wife wants a gaming laptop (so she can play DOOM
). I’ve been looking and they all have Win10. I’ve pretty much narrowed down the brand, MSI, just have to pick one FOR ME! I’ll be damned if I’m gonna buy a new and more powerful laptop and give it to her.
She said she would be fine with my 2 year old powerhouse model.
So I would just like some feedback.
Unbeknown to me my Son was installing all the components of Win 10 (yes I hear you all saying that windows was doing it) onto MY PERSONAL Pc. Let us just call it the old one for easier reference as I use his faster more powerful PC seeing as he stays with his GF.
I tried accessing the old PC and was met my a myriad of confusing symbols etc etc etc… needless to say it had to get reformatted back to Win 7 as I am from an older generation that resists change until it is proven to work. So that was the end of my Win 10 experience. Try and see if you like it and if not there will always be a copy of Win 7 available to revert back to.
Next, your Wife: My Son was into AlienWare for his original gaming laptop and it was faster than my old PC but as time went on he fully upgraded it for a small sum of money in comparison to buying a brand new model. Would you consider an upgrade to your PC so the Wife can have a faster laptop at a massively reduced cost?
Each laptop he has purchased has been extremely faster than buying from your High Street retailers because he had them basically made to measure to his specification. Again would you consider that as an option?
Ultimately I would give her the older laptop and for you to buy the new super duper faster laptop for yourself
BobCMemberWhat are you advocating?

cables do not breathe

Perhaps you would prefer to start a new topic involving dry and wet arcing of electrical cables caused by a variety of defects within the wiring and connections?
better that than hijacking Soulzas thread on his new PC.
BobCMemberI stick my fingers in my ears at that response
BobCMember5 hours ago, scummbagg said:its actually caused by magnetic forces, all electric cables produce a magnetic field around them, this is why some cables have shielding.
cables too close together with current passing through them both produce a magnetic field (induction) these fields interact with each other and cause heat.
This is not a discussion between you and I over the “basics” as I prefer to keep it when discussing complex scientific phenomena. It’s merely about offering some advice about the actuality of fire relating to overheating within PCs.
I trust that you have no objection with my mere thought of life saving?

and I agree.
IMHO the prediction system is flawed and outdated.
The Artificial Intelligence used to create such stats can only base a prediction by using outdated records of each and every player as opposed to knowing what exactly will happen during that game. This is why the “pubbies” are so up in arms when they see a 90% win rate for their team and they usually all end up dead with only only 1 of the enemy being killed.
The best you can do is to forget that % win Mod and just enjoy your game without any expectations of winning.
Expect a loss and you will be happy with any win,
Expect a win and with every loss you will be unhappy and miserable,
BobCMemberEnsure that your cables are able breathe as there is a phenomenon known in the electrical world as “ventilation” and that is when wires and cables are tightly packed together and the heat inside them cannot be dissipated or dispersed therefore the whole bundle starts to overheat.
Some may argue that it should be lack of ventilation but hey ho.
Hopefully by the look of your set up there is adequate fans to extract all the heat generated.
BobCMemberMy monthly membership is due today so I wonder if I’m banned?
BobCMemberMost CPUs or chips if I’m correct already come overclocked hence they are quite cheap to buy.
The issue then becomes overheating when the purchaser of an already overclocked chip tries to increase the speed even further than its maximum. Most players will likely not know how to overclock but all I say to the ones that do, “be careful” and ensure you cool that CPU down.

I use 3 monitors. 1 to the left, 1 to the right and a 32″ above them. Very comfortable viewing.

However @ Soulza, that’s a very nice set-up but does it kill more tanks
BobCMemberKDSE = Germany?
BobCMember“respect my second forename” hmm Paranoia
.
Great to see that you worked out what your problem was and that you managed to solve it on your own. I only wish I could solve my only issues as easily.
I am not a MOD or have anything to do with the running of the forum but I would hardly call your post SPAM as it is relevant to the topic being discussed. Your post may assist others who are also using Kaspersky to recognise the same fault.
