Guys I have just had new specs as my eyesight was failing. What gets me now is that I cannot even see a tank that is right in front of me. It cannot be the game surely that has now found a way to blend a tanks camouflage into the type of background that it’s fighting in.
I find it particularly hard to fight in the town and citties as everything appears to be almost gray. Thats why I leftthat other other tank game.
Do you have any suggestions as how I can correct this anomaly?
The contour outline is confusing as I see the whole outline but cannot make out what is rock/building/tank.
Totally confused.
download (or make if you can) tank skins that make all tanks hunter’s orange… that might help
Have you tried playing in Color blind mode It makes the most red into light purple
Also in My Alt Files in my XVM it also has colorblind colors in it
Bob…I’m colourblind too…if u use BW u can change the colours of the siloetes (eerr…typo??) to anything u like…e.g I have my allies as a bright electric blue and enemies as a screaming JCB yellow…there used to be a way of manually changing them within the game files but typical WG they decided that any colours apart from theirs was cheating with their typical “fuck you very much if you can’t see our colours..blind cunt” attitude….somebody here may well have the answer on how to do without using BW or similar
I have the same problem since 1.0 The thing is…. you should not not be able to see the outlines so good without tundra lol. Try changing contrast settings or if you have an old monitor get one with better resoloution.
Res is 1680×1050. Adjusting the contrast lightens the screen a little but on snow or sand maps it’s often too bright. I don’t think Hawg uses Tundra or maybe I am using it and don’t know as I always used Speedtree. I can sit in a bush, zoom, then the bush clears but I thoughtthat was just normal LOL.
I did wonder about the tank colours (lets call it an advantage skin for want of a better description). Another game I played before WOT had my stealth tank in a lovely shimmering wavy effect with the Scottish St Andrews flag all over it. (A beautiful sight to see
) and there was the ability as you guys describe to make tanks as a solid colour. Duue to either the new game mechanics or my eyesight it still remains to be seen that I am not viewing the tanks as I once could.
In this instance I really will be changing the tank appearance to 2 distinct colours as you are describing. Who can supply the file for me inthe interim period?

all u can change is the OUTLINES bob….used to be able to do it by editing one of the “*.lc” files in RES folder….cant remeber which…or u can do it with the BW pack…and that part of the pack is free…i.e no trail period time limits (I think….maybe wrong thr…)…now that surely must appeal to u as a Jock….
Speedtree and tundra do the same thing Bob.
I am sure that it got worse after 1.0. I really struggle to see edges of rocks and houses if another rock/house is behind.
I tried playing with the contrast this morning and it didn’t really help. I will try with colour saturation tomorrow.

There is a mod that will let you change the outline color. I d/l and looked at but never installed because it appeared to log into the RU server to pass info.

I’m in the process of making my on version of outlines color.
But I had to put it on hold because I’m getting ready for update 1.1.0.0 next week ,but after I get update lined out I start back working on it.
your barking up the wrong tree here people , he cant see because there is TO MUCH detail , and shading , sound stupid i know but there is a mod to change the res right down , it was made for low speck machines that had trouble running
the game , this would work for you as it takes out shadows,shaders,colors etc.
also you may try this:-
I myself can see fine, but would like to either change the outline color or at least make it bolder. Even the red tends to blend in with the back ground at times.
