Well, I tried the tracer mod thingy (for the 9.15.1 client). Sometimes it shows where the arty shot, for a very small time (the tracer disappears after 2-3 seconds), sometimes not. However it always show the visible enemy’s tracers, so I guess it is working somehow. 

The new redball also doesn’t work. Looks like I have to learn coding in python to solve this.

I also tried Warlances 9.15.1 red ball mod. It never showed the enemy arty’s postion, like in the video Apollo linked. It only showed already spotted tanks last postion where they made a shot.

Also tried wotspeak’s 9.15.1 red ball mod, it didn’t showed anything.

All attempts made with a clear res_mods folder
