I would always rush in and lock on to the target tank “legally” and do the circle of death while a buddy fired from range. It was just to easy but did it on pretty much every tank. However I was only using the legal lock from vanilla. Could this be construed as aimbotting? I’m stumped on this.

I feel for you. You are not the first to get banned for no reason. 
Offering to reinstate your premiums after an illegal mod ban is new to me. We’ve tried this several times.
