ok so I’m trying my hand at editing the protanki Skins. Need some help with the DXT settings.. Currently using Photoshop CC 2015 since I am very familiar with the program and its editing abilities.
American M4 sherman tank files.

File settings as far as i can tell from what Photoshop shows before any editing and or saving overwriting
M4_Sherman_chassis_01_AM DDS
No Mipmap
DTX 5
Alpha Channel
Alpha 1 Selected
M4_Sherman_guns_AM
DXT5
No Alpha
No Mipmap
M4_Sherman_hull_01_AM
DXT5
No Mipmap
Alpha Channel none
M4_Sherman_turret_01_AM
DXT 5
Alpha Channel none
No Mipmap
M4_Sherman_turret_02_AM
DXT 5
Alpha Channel none
No Mipmap
(keeping the same settings as above and overwriting the current image)
I Recolored some of the hitzone skin marker areas to see them better over longer distances. slightly increased the color of the tanks so they dont look so damn dull.
Now just using the Control Save option the file size is almost doubled.

I want to modify all the tank skins, but the problem is that it will start to build up ALOT Of memory for the game to read. Damn near double the original folder size.
I would like to continue reskinning .DDS images to my liking.
So question is….
what can i do to reduce the file size back to the original? Reduce the file size below original while keeping my new modified DDS Images.
I have attempted this before by setting up an action in photoshop to autosave all DDS files as DXT1 defualt settings (no mipmap, no alphas). Which did NOT bode well for WoT. Kept getting graphical issues on loading screen (strange small pixel blocks running diagonal across screen) stuck on loading screens, even distant tanks not correctly colored, sometimes semi transparent.
Any suggestions or ideas how i might be able to possibly compress the DDS files down, DDS save options, etc…, w/o Fouling up WoT would be greatly appreciated.
