    Hello guys.

here is a quick tutorial on how to remove the fps hardcap in World of Tanks. there are many reasons why i have done this and i will explain you if you like to know more.

ok enough blabla bla let’s get into this straight away:

Step 0 : Download wottools to edit xml files. it’s available for download in this post.

Step 1 : Go to C:GamesWorld_of_Tanksres and make a backup copy of the engine_config file

Step 2: Run wot tools, click on the folder icon and navigate to the res foldere inside the main directory of your WoT client install. now double click on the engine_config file

this will make your xml file editable with notepad++ or wordpad, close wottools.

    wototools.PNG

Step 3 : Open Engine_config file with your favourite text editor. find the line : <maxFrameRate>    120    </maxFrameRate> and replace the 120 with whatever you like. 999 for no fps lock 60 if you want to reduce your cap without using vsync. save this file.

    DONE

    wottools.exe

I think he was asking why, if this is so simple, no-one has thought to put this here before. It was a compliment.

    Simple, but VERY good.

for high refresh rate monitors like 144Hz, 165Hz, 240Hz
or to lock game framerate same as monitors maximum to prevent stuttering

for example my gtx1070 run wot about 150 -170fps but my monitor is only 60Hz
Playing at 150Hz on a 60Hz monitor game is stuttering

i,ve locked wot at 60Hz and stuttering is gone (i also locked it with the nvidia profile inspector for better results)

At the next few days im waiting for the new monitor to arrive 1440p 165Hz g-sync then i will unlock it (set the maximum frame rate at 999 fps or a value higher than monitors maximum)and nvidia g-sync will sync framerate between gpu and monitor no softwrare lock – monitoring
