I’m not starting a poll to see how many players are affected by this intrusion but I do want to know if a few of my clan mates and I are the only ones who are getting invaded by these advertisements. What I’m talking about is those pm’s you get from someone you don’t know, haven’t played in a pub match or a skirmish but are at your door trying to sell you discounted gold. You would think with the technology WG has to catch and ban players for using (or not) illegal mods they would put forth the effort to stop and ban those responsible for these unsolicited sale’s pitches. By the way, a ticket to WoT has had no reply as of this posting. My only recourse is to blacklist them four or five times a day. They change their username and come right back!
Ideals and or comments are being solicited here. I would like to know just how bad and how wide spread this problem is.
no i never had this problem on EU server….. and not even on NA server
i did have that once when i was new to the game. and 2 times russian text could not make the difference if they are willing to sell something or calling me names

its been reported in the FB group WOT arty noobs that on the EU server people are getting random messages, something along the lines of “welcome to www. something . com” offering free tanks and gold etc
This happened to me ages ago on EU. It usually just happened in low tier battles 1 + 2 but it stopped and I haven’t seen it for a while.
I guess the gold spammers are focusing on NA now.

I used to see the buy gold messages in the in game chat window awhile back in low tier games, but haven’t seen any in a long time.
i have the same problem in NA server alot of private messages saying buy gold bla bla bla
Guys, this is a result of the Denial of Service “attack” that has taken out the jabber support (ie., “friends list”) for months. These people are/were overloading that part of the servers (since this is a separate service running across a separate port) and as soon as it was fixed – BAMM — they are back again. The pitfalls of using an easily accessible, outside of the game, chat protocol.
Disable communication from people outside your friends list.
Stop those wonderful “kill yourself” messages some people get as well.
Noooooooo….. not the “kill yourself” messages. Getting those is why I play WoT.
I try to play better than that level of personal hate.
Occasionally I’ll get triggered and have to take things into after battle messages, but it’s usually in response. In 6 years, i can only think of a handful of messages i’ve initiated without some in-game bickering starting it.
